Harris & Associates is proud to welcome Brandon Hays, PE, QSD, PMP as a new Director in Harris’ Program + Construction Management service.
With a proven track record of project delivery, Brandon will help cities, counties and agencies deliver their construction projects. He brings 12 years of construction engineering and project management experience to Harris. This foundation enables him to handle an atypically large load: At one point, Brandon managed seven $2 million to $90 million projects at once across California, leading them all to success via thorough planning, communication, coordination and execution.
"Brandon gives us a powerful blend of leadership and engineering savvy," said Glenn Suitor, PE President of Harris’ Program + Construction Management division. "Our clients will benefit from his deep knowledge of highly complex projects."
Brandon is especially proud of two career triumphs: He was project manager for a $90 million bridge replacement at Route 880 in Oakland. The project met client goals on an accelerated schedule, then won the Partnering Success in Motion Award from Caltrans.
Prior to that, he managed a $35 million roadway-widening project. When he arrived, the team was three months behind schedule; a year later, the project wrapped up one month ahead of schedule. His tenacious effort earned two awards: the California Transportation Foundation Award for Conventional Highway Project of the Year and the Rural Highway Excellence in Transportation Award from Caltrans.
Brandon is also an avid public speaker and earned the Competent Communicator certification from Toastmasters International. He has always performed at high levels: Brandon was an Eagle Scout and played professional lacrosse for the San Francisco Dragons.
