Harris & Associates is thrilled to announce its recent selection by the City of Walnut Creek (City) to provide environmental consulting services for key development projects, helping to advance sustainable and community-centered growth. This collaboration will aid the City in achieving compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) while protecting local natural resources and quality of life.
As part of the project scope, Harris will support Walnut Creek's Planning Division by preparing critical environmental documentation, including Initial Study Checklists, Negative Declarations, Mitigated Negative Declarations, and Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs). Our assessments will address essential factors like air quality, noise, traffic, and historic preservation, ensuring that each development promotes both urban progress and environmental stewardship.
“Our purpose at Harris is to build equitable, sustainable, and resilient communities, and we are honored to bring this commitment to Walnut Creek,” said Darin Neufeld, Director of Environmental Planning + Compliance at Harris. “With each project, we aim to balance growth with environmental integrity, supporting the City’s mission to create spaces that enhance the quality of life for all residents.”
By applying our specialized expertise, Harris will enable the City of Walnut Creek to make informed decisions that prioritize sustainability and community resilience. This partnership reinforces Harris’ ongoing dedication to shaping vibrant, inclusive, and enduring communities across California.
